About this Website
Introduction
If you came to this site through my homepage, by accident, or if you're just new to Gene, please go here for an introduction about who and what Gene is.
For some time now, I've been trying to have a website that would showcase my Gene doll. I started one that was attached to my old homepage, but because I had so many problems and long waits just getting a Gene (and because I never used to update my sites much), not much happened. Anyway, when I learned how to use Microsoft FrontPage Express©, and when I finally got my Gene doll (after manyharrowing experiences, I decided to start a new page. At first, I just had the Tribute to Gene Marshall page. Because I just love classic movies, and therefore have visited so many "tribute" webpages to various real movie stars, I wanted to create a website that would seem to be a "tribute" page to a real movie star but which would really be about Gene. That is still the intention behind the A Tribute to Gene Marshall part of my website. However, I realized that there were other things I wanted to do with my site but to do them, I would just have to admit that Gene is really a doll (LOL). So, that's when I decided to combine the two into Monolithic Stars, with two sub-sites, A Tribute to Gene Marshall (the faux "star" site) and Simply Gene (the doll site). The reason why I named the site Monolithic Stars (in the plural) is because I intend to eventually buy Madra, Trent, and Violet dolls, and I want to include them in the site, too. Oh, yes, and by the way, Monolithic Studios is the fictional studio of Gene, Madra, Trent and Violet (as mentioned in Mel Odom's book "Girl Star") so that's why I chose that name. However, until the time when I will buy Madra, Trent, and Violet (and I hope to soon!), please enjoy the Gene sections which I have already put up on the net! Thanks for visiting!

Harrowing Adventures for Gene
I was very happy with Shooting Star, but I didn't dress her much at first, since I only had three outfits (Shooting Star and Warmest Wishes, and then two months later, First Stop Chicago). But for Christmas, I received Hacienda, and as I was trying to put her in it on Christmas Day, her arm broke off at the shoulder! (It is a ball-and-socket joint, but is principally secured with a little...what shall I call it?...plastic-dowel-thing that connects the top of the arm to the inside of Gene's shoulder. This little dowel-thing had broken.) I was stunned, and as it 'sank in' I was very disappointed. I talked it over with my parents, and they agreeded that it probably should not have come off, and that we would probably be able to replace it, either through the dealer from whom I had bought it from on Ebay, or from Ashton Drake directly (employing the 360 day guarantee).
THE REST IS COMING SOON!
